Sitting at home with some frozen bananas and coffee and wondering how to make a delicious, healthy snack out of it? How about whipping up some “n’ice cream”?
What is N’ice Cream?
To sum it up… it’s ice cream you make from frozen bananas. The good thing about n’ice cream is you don’t need an ice cream maker or any dairy products to make it! If made right, it will even taste a little, tiny, bit like ice cream. You can also add some coconut cream or almond milk to add some creaminess and keep it dairy-free.
We found this recipe online and modified slightly. There are lots of other recipes for n’ice cream out there with some different flavor profiles. If you make a coffee flavor, just be sure to use a quality, never bitter coffee (like La Semeuse) for best results.
- 2 Frozen bananas
- 5 tablespoons of Don Marco espresso coffee (liquid)
- 2 Medjool dates (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 oz. chopped dark chocolate
First and only step: blend the frozen bananas with dates, coffee, and vanilla. Blend until it gets to the desired consistency and serve with some chopped dark chocolate. Lightly top with a couple Don Marco coffee beans or fine ground if desired. If consistency is not firm enough, freeze for 30 minutes.
