
began 100 years ago in Switzerland, but it was in 1975, while on vacation, that I had the great good fortune of meeting the
third-generation roaster of Café La Semeuse, Marc Bloch —— an encounter that would change my life. We became very good friends and, with the passage of time, "chosen brothers".
For years Marc sent La Semeuse for me to enjoy. I knew from the very first sip that this was noticeably better than any other coffee I had ever encountered. Friends and family who tried it shared my excitement. I would later learn that it was in fact La Semeuse' HIGH ROASTINGTM that made this coffee truly exceptional and delicious. My belief in the
distinctiveness of this coffee was so strong that when Marc Bloch dared me to introduce Café La Semeuse to this country —— I took the dare.
